After many years skiing in Europe (mostly France) and North America we discovered Morzine in 2003. With two pre-teen children it became our preferred winter resort for its welcoming atmosphere, its fantastic variety of runs and its value-for-money restaurants and accommodation. Five years later we decided to look for a place of our own. Finally, after looking for nearly four years we were fortunate to discover a gem – a small ‘60s-built chalet in the centre of town only minutes from lifts, restaurants and bars.
Our original plan was to renovate and extend the property but after much deliberation we decided instead to demolish the existing building and start from scratch. The goal was to design and a build a spacious, well-equipped, top quality chalet that we could share with family and friends and make available for rental.
With help from Morzinois friends we found and engaged the services of a talented local designer and a superb architect from Thonon. With their guidance and direction and the hard work of a wide range of local artisans we created Les Roches Noires: a mountain home.
We love Morzine and we love staying in the heart of the town – we hope that you will too.
